Job Description and Responsibilities

Willow Valley is hiring a Accounting Coordinator to be primarily responsible for the general ledger accounting for Willow Valley Communities, Charitable Foundation, and Connections at Home. The Accounting Coordinator is a detail-oriented position that works closely with all members of the accounting team, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll, to ensure the timely completion of all tasks.

Wage:

  • $32.00-$33.00/hr, based on experience
  • Salaried position

Responsibilities:

  • Performs monthly bank reconciliations
  • Enters and posts miscellaneous cash receipts, charge logs, and other activities to receivables ledger.
  • Verifies, allocates, and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts.
  • Performs all accounting functions for the Willow Valley Communities Charitable Foundation and Connections at Home, including AP, billing, reconciliations, and month end close.
  • Reconciles and balances accounts.
  • Prepares Sales & Use tax reports.
  • Serves as a backup for Willow Valley Communities payroll and payroll taxes.
  • Serves as a backup for the Accounts Receivable Specialist.
  • Answers resident questions.
  • Support/maintain/update various software packages used to perform above duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Accounts Receivable Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Payroll Specialist.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WVC's policies and procedures.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, discipline and terminating

  • Planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing

  • Appraising performances

  • Compensation and rewarding

  • Addressing Resident and Team Member complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college OR

  • 5 years’ experience and/or training OR

  • Combination of education and experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required.

  • Working knowledge of basic computer operation including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Hours:

  • 40 hrs/week

Schedule:

  • 8:00am-5:00pm
